Mayor's Welcome

Welcome
St. Albans Festival of Lights - Christmas Lights Display in St. Albans West Virginia

Welcome Friends & Family,

As the Holiest of seasons approach and families are busy preparing for Christmas, we are thankful that you have taken the time to visit the St. Albans Festival of Lights. As I have attended the St. Albans Festival of Lights each year since 1988, the first year that St. Albans put this event together, we are very thankful that you and your family have taken the time to attend what has developed into one of the best Christmas Light Shows in the entire State of West Virginia. For many of you, it has become tradition to drive through our lights every year. For some, it is the start of a new tradition for your family. Either way,  we truly thank you for being part of this great event!

The holidays can be very hectic for many of us so we ask that you remember the reason for the season, and cherish the moments with family and friends as we celebrate the birth of our Christ. St. Albans wishes you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a prosperous and wonderful New Year!

God Bless,

Mayor Scott James

The St. Albans Festival of Lights has been going on since 1988. It is the best light show in the state! I would highly recommend it. It has been a family tradition for my family since the beginning!

I enjoyed the walk very much. This is the best way to savor the beauty of The St. Albans Festival of Lights. But I do have one concern: the cars. Although the road was supposedly closed to traffic, there were several cars leaving the park as us pedestrians walked on the road. Most of the cars (not all!) had logo on the doors indicating they were reporting crews from local news outlets. We adult walkers walked to the side and yelled 'Car back!" to alert our fellow walkers. But there were several energetic children who were running back and forth, marveling at the lights. It would have been too easy for one of these children to dart to one side or the other to get closer to one of those lights just as one of those cars was driving past. So .. if you want news coverage, then please, schedule this to occur before or after the "walk through" times. Do you really want a future Light Festival to make the news because a small child was hit by a car?
